Italy · Rocca San Giovanni

A stone’s throw from the Adriatic Sea, Rocca San Giovanni is situated on a rocky ridge, in a highly panoramic position. It is a comune and town in the province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region of Italy.

Rocca San Giovanni is located 5km to the beach, the Costa dei Trabocchi, and offers some of the most beautiful beaches. It is yet, small, active but by no means over developed. It has maintained its original Italian charm, and offers a character full thriving square with bars and restaurants and a surprising choice of summer entertainment. A beach location, stopped in time and full of Italian charm and tradition.

The first settlements go back to the early medieval period; the place was donated by the Earl of Chieti Trasmondo II to the abbey of San Giovanni in Venere, which made it into a fortified borough.
